Smart City and Autonomous Technology

Pittsburg is dedicated to becoming a leader in Smart City and Autonomous Technology.

On November 18, 2019, the City of Pittsburg issued a proclamation encouraging autonomous and smart city innovation and testing as a public safety and economic development initiative. The City recognizes that autonomous technology is imminent and likely to profoundly affect our lives and communities, and strives to be at the forefront of these technological advances, and support the businesses within these fields.

Pittsburg is located in Contra Costa County, and works closely with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) and its partner, GoMentum Station. Contra Costa is home to the largest secure connected and autonomous proving ground in the nation.
