The City provides for a variety of land use types, from neighborhood commercial districts, areas prime for research and development, and heavy industry.

Downtown.

The heart of Pittsburg’s historical identity. The City and private property owners have invested over $100 million to renovate Downtown Pittsburg - this includes construction of high-density, mixed use projects, restaurants and breweries, office spaces, artist spaces, and the historic California Theater, which hosts numerous theater productions, musical artists, and comedians such as George Lopez, Sinbad, Faison Love, and John Witherspoon.

Garcia Corridor.

Located near the Pittsburg Center BART Station and proximate to State Route 4, the Garcia Corridor provides 125 acres of light industrial and industrial park land ready for research and development uses. The area offers a mix of warehousing, manufacturing space, and new build-to-suit developments which have been approved and are ready for construction.

Railroad Avenue Specific Plan.

Looking for modern amenities, higher density mixed-use development, and access to public transit? That Railroad Avenue Specific Plan (RASP) is the City’s adopted plan which looks at creating a transit-oriented development around the Pittsburg Center BART Station. With plans for 1,000s of new residences, additional commercial development, and continued focus on industrial research and development at the center of town, the RASP points to the future of living, working, and recreating in Pittsburg.

Loveridge Road.

The home of Corteva Agriscience, USS Posco Steel, Bombardier Transportation, Hitachi, and other large corporations. The Loveridge Road area represents the City’s biggest industrial area - and one of the largest in Contra Costa County - with numerous opportunities for heaving and limited manufacturing, processing, and more. This area provides deep water channel access, proximity to State Route 4, and rail access.
