Pittsburg Business Community

The City of Pittsburg believes that the best way to attract and retain businesses in a community is to create and sustain a strong and positive business climate. The City maintains close relationships with the members of its business community, including the Pittsburg Chamber of CommerceContra Costa Industrial Association, the East Bay Leadership Council, the East Bay Economic Development Alliance, the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GoBiz), and the Contra Costa Economic Partnership. The City also works closely with Los Medanos College and Pittsburg Unified School District to help develop an emergent workforce in the 21st century.

These relationships create a supportive network that facilitates communication and cooperation among all parties. The Economic Development Department works hand-in-hand with members of the business community, acting as a personal advocate, providing the support and assistance necessary to create and nurture a successful business environment.

Pittsburg offers a Recycling Market Development Zone Program to eligible businesses that provides profitable incentives including loans, marketing funds, technical assistance, and more. We encourage you to contact the City’s Economic Development Department to find out more about the numerous programs available to assist eligible businesses located within the City of Pittsburg.
